Storms like this show us why we don’t need the government. If everyone was more prepared themselves instead of relying on the gov’t to save them, we’d all be better off. Instead, gov’t coddles us and makes us dependent and wanting more
fucking goverment, coddling me into not using my inherent skills to fix my own power lines, remove millions of gallons of water from the subway system, and rebuild washed out roads and bridges! if i hadn’t been governmentally coddled into a complacent haze, i would have rewired the entire city’s utility system so that it was underground and safe from this kind of storm! maybe some day i will free myself from their oppressive paternalism and take care of massive infrastructure needs by myself.
