It *wasn’t* her decision to turn this into a Supreme Court case against UT. She went to LSU and WORKS AS A FINANCIAL ANALYST IN AUSTIN, THE SAME FATE SHE WOULD HAVE HAD IF SHE WENT TO UT!
Abigail Fischer’s case is bankrolled by affiliates of the Koch brothers. Her father is close friends with those conservative loonies. Their *whole plan from the beginning* was to take this to the SCOTUS and get affirmative action/race based admission overturned.
Ain’t no conniving white girl behind this shit. It’s all a bunch of white men trying to screw more and more POCs.
I’m following the legal arguments closely because 45% of UT holistic admits are WHITE. Holistic admits only constitute less than 25% of total admissions a year, but THE MAJORITY OF THEM ARE STILL WHITE!!!
yup. this same thing happened with the last challenge to affirmative action at the university of michigan. white women who had still gotten into good colleges and who still had jobs were backed in their challenges by conservative rich white men (who, in michigan, had the face of a black man).
this goes back to what i’ve said two hundred million times. THEY HAVE A 50 YEAR INTERNATIONAL PLAN. We work in 4 month election cycles. that is, if we aren’t working in 2 day news cycles. we’re always urgent urgent we have to do this RIGHT NOW OR THE WHOLE WORLD WILL DIE. and that type of organizing *has consequences of massive proportions* when THEY are organizing within a 50 year framework that encompasses the entire damn globe.
