Wow. It’s almost like what people have been saying all these years are actual facts.

Can you rehabilitate them, though, or is this permanent? Society’s ideal response is completely different, depending on the circumstances.

i wouldn’t say completely different. the response once the low-income 9- and 10-year-olds would vary depending on whether rehabilitation is possible, but in either case, it seems like we could try to prevent this from happening in the first place through mechanisms like limiting lead paint exposure, providing adequate nutrition to pregnant & nursing moms and growing kids, and likely some pretty significant educational interventions.
