Police began receiving reports of the bear on the bike path near the Andrews Arboretum off of Broadway around 10:30 a.m., according to police dispatchers. The bear then moved toward Grandview Avenue at about 10:45 a.m. as Boulder and CU police tried to corral it. The bear finally settled down under a tree around 11:35 a.m. before climbing up the tree at 12:05 p.m. Boulder resident Lynn Segal rode by on a bicycle and shouted at officials to “leave the bear alone!” before riding off. Segal also protested wildlife rangers’ presence when a bear was tranquilized in the 1400 block of North Street on Tuesday. (via Daily Camera)
