Are you smarter about America than an immigrant? When it comes to civics, maybe not. When Xavier University’s Center for the Study of the American Dream asked native-born residents to answer questions from the U.S. naturalization test earlier this year, one in three flunked the test. Less than 3 percent of immigrants applying for citizenship failed.
