This summer some of Jeffco Public Schools students won’t have to go much farther than their front doors to get a good, nutritious meal. A retrofitted school bus is making the rounds in two Arvada neighborhoods to deliver meals as part of the Summer Meals Program, sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture and a $6,000 grant from Hunger Free Colorado. The program provides meals for students who rely on the free-and-reduced lunch programduring the school year. A librarian will be on board the bus to read to students at the stops.
